The Matsu Take Ensemble is the only Japanese traditional music ensemble in Quebec. It is comprised of 2 shakuhachi palyers, 2 koto players, one dancer and shamisen player, as well as a taiko player. The ensemble perform folk songs ands dances, traditional pieces, as well as pieces from a Zen buddhist monk repertory.
